Did you get an error message?  What beep codes did you get?

These are all documented, but:

-  make sure that you are not using cardbus v.8.0 - 5.0 is mandatory;

- make sure that you've run pcmcia.exe;

- make sure that you use the /R:500 switch on PCMCIA.SYS.

Also, listen for the beep codes if it's still not working.
