I recently picked up moderating the EMBEDDED echo. For those of you who
don't know what that's all about, embedded systems are computers that are in
some other product that's primarily not a computer, like the ones in your
car, your microwave, and so forth.
In a recent message there the subject of home automation came up and I though
of the folks in here. Seems to me that a very small amount of hardware to
control things and a bit of software smarts could go a long way towards
making things better in terms of what we're dealing with in here.
Feel free to drop by and comment. Traffic in there is *very* light at this
point, not far from zero, but that's at least partly because of the shaky
backbone status of the echo, and I'm dealing with that.
