I'm interested in a a PC-based program to go with my AEA CP-1, an older
but quite effective HF modem. I'm a licensed ham so I'm interested in
both transmitting and receiving. I've been using it with a Commodore
64, on RTTY and CW. But I can't do PACTOR with the old firmware, and
AMTOR is not reliable, either.
I've ordered some literature on BMK-MULTY, and I downloaded an old
version of PC-TOR to read the docs. But I can't seem to find Hamcomm
anywhere except on a local BBS that won't let me even look at the docs
unless I subscribe to the board. My Internet gateway only gives me
email and news, not ftp, gopher, etc.
Do you have any "brag file" for Hamcomm you could post? Do you have
a comparison of features between Hamcomm and the other PC-based
programs? Am I correct in assuming that it does PACTOR? Would it work
with my AEA CP-1? Is Hamcomm shareware, and if so, what is the
registration cost?
Lots of questions, I know. Thanks if you can answer any of them.
