My apologies for not being around much the last little while.  I'm glad
to see that in the last 200+ messages that I downloaded there was
*not one* "email" sent through the echo, and only one semi-commercial
post. :)  Anyway, here's the rules for the week...

The Internet Echo  [Revised July, 1997]

It is assumed that all users in the echo are mature individuals who have
an understanding as to what is acceptable and what is not in a public
forum.
1. Be polite or use NetMail.
2. If you want to play moderator, do it in NetMail.
3. Replying to an off-topic message (this includes any email mistakenly
   sent via the echo) is considered to be off-topic.
4. Blatently commercial posts are off topic, and could lead to removal
   from the echo.
5. Discussion of warez, pirate FTP sites, phreaking, cracking, or other
   illegal topics is off-topic.  Discussion of adult sites, while not
   "officially" off-topic, is discouraged, due to the fact that it is
   a bit of a legal gray area.
6. The official language of the echo is English.  This is due to the
   fact that (a) English is the official language of FidoNet; and
   (b) Most of the users in the echo speak English.
7. Repeated violations of the rules will result in the removal of the
   user and/or the originating BBS from the echo.
- The official tagname for the echo is INTERNET, and it will not be
  changed, so please don't ask.
- Due to the large number of users in here, duplication of user names
  occasionally occurs.  If you get a reply to something you didn't
  write, that may be the cause.
- The rules will be posted EVERY Friday, so no one will be able to say
  that they don't know the rules if they hang around here for a bit.
