True.  I don't have a list, but just bought a Shinho (a low-end monitor that
seems ok and was a great buy from Surplus Direct at $370 for a 17").
Goldstar and Daewoo are two big-name manufacturers.

Don't forget Samsung.  I seem to recall their 17" monitor being rated high by
Computer Shopper (or was it Consumer Report?).
