You can't claim that's quite understandable, can you?
To repeat myself again, HD and removables as HD have their drive letter
assigned by os2dasd.dmd+os2lvm.dmd. Immediately after (when there isn't
a reservedriveletter= entry) are the CD-rom drive letters assigned by
os2cdrom.dmd. After these floppy and alike things like virtual disks
(Device=...\vfdisk.sys), and after these at last the Run= affairs such
as RamFS.
As I told already, the assign action (in respect to CD-drives) is done
by os2cdrom.dmd. It is as simple as that - that's why the file is called
*DMD btw-. And if there is a RESERVEDRIVELETTER= entry in the
config.sys, it (= os2cdrom.dmd) will take this entry in consideration
and begin assigning from the next free drive letter on.
Easy to check if you want (apparently nobody wants to check): rem out
os2cdrom.dmd and reboot. You won't have a CD-drive anymore, and
RESERVEDRIVELETTER= will have no influence.
In an Fdisk environment might shift as a consequence, in an LVM
environment of course HD and removables as HD will keep their letter.
