Apparently the OS/2 hang is most likely to be a hardware problem, or some
noise on the modem or something (certainly not likely to be any portion of
the 10 meg of executables that comprise OS/2, anyway), according to first
level IBM support. I rang them instead of faxing in the problem because I
was hoping they could give me some key sequence to get more information
than "she's hung, Jim".
Anyway, I just faxed in the latest hang to them. I really must move to
Linux soon. I've just commented out the last of the squish things that
dealt with things on the 3:711/934 address, so now I can move on to some of
the other utilities. Areafix is the next one, and hopefully Bob will come
up with the other two, and I should just about be done.
Hmmm, I suppose I had better come up with the mini BBS too, now that I have
zmodem. "Press ctrl-alt-delete within 2 milliseconds if you do not
wish to download devil*.* etc", "thankyou - download
selected".
BFN. Paul.
