My trick to overcome problems as these which indeed happen all to often
is to set the spool directory to ramFS station, for instance
Z:\Spool
(remember, you can't set it to the root of the virtual drive).
It has the advantage too mangled print jobs never will pop up after a
reboot.
Of course, you need at least 512 Mb ram to work as such.
