As I said, they had the facts laid out before them and made a
decision which I abided by even though I didn't agree with it.
If I had gone against the wishes of the majority, not only might I
have had a full blown riot on my hands, but they would have
resented me and the term "Dictator," would have been thrown
around. At least this way they had only themselves to blame for
what happened. In using your method, I couldn't have satisfied
them either way. Either I get resented for going against the
majority rule or I get resented for not doing it. It's the old,"
"Why do you listen to me," routine. If I had it to do over
again, with the facts at my disposal that I had then, I would still
do exactly the same thing.
As I said, they had all the facts I had; they made the decision
based on those facts.
