BP> Yea, I saw a bike with front suspension yesterday, didn't even know
BP> they existed...
Dear Bill:
I had the same reaction when I bought my (non-suspended) Trek Multi-track
a few years ago. At that time, front suspension was fairly common on
mountain bikes and rear suspension was just starting but no road bikes had
anything like it. Now the manufacturers are starting to build front
suspension on some road bikes. I started dreaming when I read Bianchi's
1996 catalogue and saw their Paris-Roubaix model: titanium frame with
front and rear suspension. It listed for 750,000 yen or about $Aus8,300
($US6,500). A friend of mine said "Sure, it's great but I won't ride
something that looks like a piece of aircraft undercarriage." He's right
- it is not all that beautiful but I can still dream about it.
I can't wait for next year when I might buy something new.
Tailwinds to you,
Steve
