S86 contains the error result for my modem, I've tried a test this morning,
two calls, the first started like v43/vfast tones but clicked and renegotiated
with 14.4. That call went fine.
The next call started at 28.8, line level -28dBm, eye quality 38, and was
slow to react, about five minutes into the call (after quality got better)
level was still -28dBm, eye quality was 22, and speed dropped to 26.4 . At
the end of the call (an hour later, no problems and worked just fine) level
was still -28dBm, eye quality 26 and speed was still 26.4 .
All calls ended normally with remote requesting disconnect.
I tried Telstra's fax folds-a & b, FoldsA reported xmitt level as -18.7dBm,
Noise as -53.8dBm, and 0 errors. All rated at excellent.
FoldsB had xmitt level as -19.1 dBm,
S/N ratio 38.7 dB
Phase jitter .4 degrees
amplitude jitter .5 %
phase modulation 0.0
amplitude mod 0.0
This was all around noon, I'll try again tonight and see if it bombs out
this time.
