The history of FidoNet is full of people trying to get their way by
threatening to leave. Giving them what they want never led to anything
good. Within a few month they would come with new demands until they left
anyway, leaving the rest of the Fidonet community with the mess they
created.

The only answer to those blackmailers is: if you want to leave, just leave.
