The first accelerated controller card I ever had was a Promise 2300 Plus on a 486 VLB machine - compared with the onboard controller there was about a 100 improvement with a Quantum Fireball 1080 - 1GB drive, far superior! The difference was very visual. I had intended a couple of years ago to get one of the then current Promise controllers, like a TX100 or so, but never got around to it yet. It's amazing what an older computer with a fast disk system in conjunction with a decent amount of RAM and a reasonable video card can appear to be - especially with OS/2-eCS! -- Regards, Mike Failed the exam for -------------------- MCSE - Minesweeper Consultant and Solitaire Expert -------------------- [ISP blocks *.exe, *.cmd, *.com, *.bat, *.reg attachments] [Please use zipped versions of above] ------------------------ Yahoo!
