Yes, there is a specific control file for what os2/eCs are considering as
CD-Rom drives. That file is os2cdrom.dmd. It's the counterpart of
os2dasd.dmd (fdisk situation) or the couple os2dasd.dmd+os2lvm.dmd (lvm
sitiation).
At boot, after it's initiation, os2cdrom.dmd assigns a drive letter to each
CD-Rom drive recognized as such by the system in an earlier stage.
That's why, as I already mentioned in my earlier message, that's why the
entry RESERVEDRIVELETTER= overrules the setting (properties) in the system
setup's connections --> drives folder. Because the entry
device=\os2\boot\os2cdrom.dmd
is ALWAYS handled before the PMshell is started.
And also, that's why the entry RESERVEDRIVELETTER= ONLY APPLIES TO CD-ROM STATIONS.
