As far as Windows and Mac files go, one file is all you'll continue to see
 I see no point in distributing more that one type per
"file". So I agree, sending out split archives of a game as well
as one large separate archive makes no sense, and just strains systems down
the line!

You are not alone in not liking split archives.  I've stopped sending them
out. If a file is too large to be sent out as one file, it's too large
period

File descriptions are ok over here for multi-part archives so I guess BBBS
is doing something right .. but I understand that not all
processors are going to work the same way as BBBS.  Given the number of
games that go through the filegate, I can understand what a PITA it sounds
like for you.
