no, not in that way... in the way that old DOS programs locate the port...
by port number and address...

can't because COM/IP (un)packs the datastream into a telnet stream as well
as handles the DNS lookups to know where to connect to when the DOS
application sends ATDTbbs.wpusa.dynip.com
