Thanks but a found the problem For testing if ready it should be
a 'S' not a 'C' for the Status. Now I have another problem, I want
to add lines of text to the end of a file but it keeps over writing
what's already in the file. I'm using this to set the read write
pointer:

CALL STREAM 'F:\VXREXX\TEST.TXT','C','SEEK <0'
