"Hermitage", for us at least, has connotations of an isolated (either physically or spiritually) place where one or more go to retreat from society and/or for spiritual exploration/evolution. ak> In modern day, especially if you are married with children, it is a ak> rest room. ;) A "rest room" (or "restroom") is an American (i.e. USAian) term for a room with a toilet.
