I hope not. I said I had 2 scsi disks of different sizes, which I changed
the smaller for the larger, so I still only have one scsi drive which I do
not use to boot, just as safe storage away from the IDE channels.

SCSI card is a 2940 the larger drive now is a IBM DRHS and no of course
they are accessed with Dani

 Didn't I see you
saying you have 2 scsi hard disks in the system? If so, these aren't
accessed using Dani. No way. Impossible.

that's why I told you what is the purpose of that file.

And I appreciate that, I just wonder why there is no help file.

now a CDrom drive and a dvd r/rw drive.

And what about the hard disks? What about the scsi drives you spoke about?

Ide boot drive and storage drive, are as they always were, unchange and
working fine under ECSv1.1 and Dani.

Please, do remember: dani drivers have any relation with scsi devices,
and scsi harddisks don't need a specific driver.

Whether you ran lvm at the beginning of phase one, and saved the
changes, even if it looked like there were no changes.

Maybe not, because since they were existing drives I may have assumed them
to be correctly LVM'd already.

I will have another go.

Thanks for your patience.
What I don't comprehend is that the present system works perfectly under
ecsv1.1, so if I migrate a copy of that to ECSv1.2, it don't, won't etc!
