The fault lies with the flash ROM in those modems that won't load the 4/29
code, *not* the 4/29 code.  Those modems that report "block erase
errors" will have to be returned to USR to have their defective flash
ROM replaced. Apparently the 4/29 code, which is larger than any previous
code, exposes flaws in some (but not all) flash ROMs.  It's a warranty
matter.
