Joseph Polanik, whom God loves, said in reply to my message:

No, my friend, it is not at all "full circle" just like the filtering
topic. The statement I made is that if one writes a macro that will handle
everyone's mail as was suggested, then it will be very difficult to write
since the rules governing email state the headers may be in any order.
A. It has nothing to do with complaining or allegedly substandard mail
clients.
B. A "superior" mail client will STILL receive headers in RANDOM order from
whatever mailers the senders use, unless the mail client reorders headers
which is outside what most mail programs need to do.
C. And, my point, writing a macro for TSE will be difficult.
Besides, you should reconsider your definition of complaining. A simple
observation that the task is formidable is a far cry from a complaint.

Don't flatter yourself so much. What would I gain from "dissing" you?
I simply did not see your posting or it seemed unlike what I wanted at the
time. It is more often the case that busy people overlook things rather
than wasting time trying to insult others. You really should get to know
the personalities of those you communicate with before assuming someone is
"out to get you".
>Let me point out that as long as your mail client always has a particular
>line first the rest doesn't matter.
But it would be much better to make a macro that can handle ALL legal mail
messages before posting your masterpiece to the 'world at large'. To make
a macro specific to a particular mail reader is limited at best. But then
again, I guess my statement is correct that it would be difficult.
>So ... instead of asking the world to adopt a browser/mail client that put

Although your implication is that I'm asking everyone to adopt a mail
client that puts the subject first, I simply state that:
  1. A great macro would handle ALL LEGAL combinations.
  2. Such a macro is non-trivial to write.
  3. If my intention was to dictate what others use I would have made
this an html message (Eudora 4.0beta does this) and it would be ugly
to all of
     you non-conformists.
>For those who might be interested, here she is again.
Thanks for the repost. I'll look over it this time instead of overlooking
.
