We need to laugh at our fears to maintain our sanity. Nothing
wrong with that. 

We have done and do many things that have not contributed to
our longevity. I was told that George Washington may have died
as much from blood loss as for any other reason. They used to
think they could cut you and the 'poison' in your 'bad blood'
would be removed this way. We learn after the fact but continue
to make mistakes. 

While the majority of persons are being protected from some of
these mistakes there are people who continue to grind zinc
molds and breath the dust and others who weld the zinc and
breathe those fumes in the prototype plastic injection mold
tooling industry. Wood patternmakers and model makers now using
fake wood made from a type of foaming plastic are experiencing
six times the rate of rectal cancers compared to the rest of
the population and I can only imagine how many others are
exposed to carcinogens in an effort to sustain themselves and
their families. 

I find it difficult to impose a slow and painful death on
others so that I can just keep everything as it was and not
have to sacrifice by doing without.
