Hi Kevin,

 Let me make the following suggestions. Since we appear to have a disk
access related problem, is it possible for you to partition and format the
drives using the ecs 1.1 install CD ?
also check how the drivers are configured when you boot tfrom the 1.1 install CD.

  Then when starting the eCS 1.2 install, go into the configuration and
check whether the same drivers are being used as were used in the eCS 1.1
install - I "think" the default of
Dani's or IBM's IDE drivers were swopped around between 1.1 install and 1.2 install
