Well, lots has been happening here in Texas.
I spoke to an assistant of my state rep, and she confirmed that the rep's
office has had MANY run ins with CPS locally over the last few years.
She also confirmed that the County DA has his eyes on something more than
being the District Attorney in a backwater little county. After listening
to my explaination of our case, she agreed that something wasn't right for
them to keep us hanging for all this time.
I called the State Bar Assoc. and they couldn't give me any advice about
the having to wait 2 years before filing for a dismissal-said they couldn't
give out legal advice, only mail me a grievance form.
As a result of a letter I wrote to a local paper regarding accountability
in the CPS and judicial systems, I got a call from a woman who's husband
has been falsely accused of molesting a little girl who lived in the apart-
ment complex where he worked as a maintainence man. The police never showed
the little girl (who has emotional problems) any other photo except that of
this man, and CPS got an accusation out of her. He says he thinks the girl
picked him because he was always nice to her, and she's probably afraid of
the one who REALLY hurt her. He has some background in law, and his lawyer
might just get the case dismissed as a result of no one else being questioned
and the fact that the mother waited two months after suspecting something
before calling the police. There was never any medical exam done, so there
is no concrete proof. He has passed THREE polygraphs that he took on his
own. He's become interested in Frank's case, and they are going to get
together and talk about it along with the possibility of a class action
lawsuit against CPS and the State of Texas.
That's it for now,
Nancy Eddy
