hi Tim
TB> There was a period in my life I couldn't wait for a King novel to hit the
TB> bookstand (and a Bachman novel either) it kept me hungry for more...but
TB> then ever since the Eyes of the Dragon he lost me as a valued reader...I
TB> would read his novels but waited for a used book store to get them in...I
TB> haven't read Delores Clayborne, Gerald's Game and Misery only started the
TB> frist few chapters and put it down.
I haven't read either of them. In my opinion all of his stories have
something good and special - which does not mean that all of them are
exciting. ;)
So I think Insomnia for example is really bad, really disappointing. But
there are also older stories that are not that exciting. A good example
may Carrie be. The story is old but that does not make it better...
TB> But with Regulators it held me again...the magic he once had when he
TB> pumped out Stand, Salem's Lot, etc.., was hiding in there and now it
TB> brought me back into the fold...yes Desperation had it's little quirks
ut
TB> the novel is showing us King in his raw form...:)
I bought a copy of The Regulators today. Now I'm really looking forward
to finding out about the quality of the book. Desperation is not bad but
it would be interesting if The Regulators was better. I mean - that could
lead to the idea that Bachman writes better stories than King.
Maybe like George Stark in the Dark Half?!;)
