".... only available on WEB".  (note, they are making a
difference 
between "available on web" and "only available on web").

To be frank, I have no idea what they mean by that, but as always in 
these circumstances, it's fair to assume it's outright bullshit.

I am for over 4 years now people urging not to by this kind of gimmick, 
so I only can repeat myself and say: "next time ask before you buy".

That is because the device only partly is complying to the laser jet

Well, theoretically you should be able to use the fax function which is 
supposed to be PC independent too. At least, it's that what compaq/hp is 
saying.
