They were talking about Old Radios SR> Does anyone out there have any old radios for sale? My future father-in SR> law collects them and I promised him I'd see if I could dig up some info SR> on here. Thanks !! I have the following - make an offer if interested: Silvertone model 101.471. Judging by the chassis & circuitry, it appears to be from about 1933 - 1935. It has 3 bands, AM Broadcast & 2 Shortwave bands. It has a wooden cabinet, and is distinctively art deco style. Cabinet is in good condition. Dial glass is cracked, and one knob is missing. Radio works well on all bands. Philco Model 38-3, console. 1937 model. Radio is complete, but does not work. Restoration in progress. I believe its biggest problem is bad capacitors - I've got a set of new style caps, but haven't installed them as yet. The dial (large round, tan color with markings) has a small piece missing out of it. Bendix combination, model number unavailable now - if interested, ask and 'll tell you. 1940 Model. AM Broadcast Band radio with record player (78's only). Does not work, have not had time to investigate. Could be a bad ube, could be a bad capacitor...I don't know. F.A.D.A. - model number unavailable now (this radio is also in storage right now). Circa 1927-1928. T.R.F. type circuitry, AC powered. This is in a brown wrinkle finish cabinet, metal, with the knobs on the front. It resembles a bread box. I have no speaker for this radio (takes an external speaker, probably a horn type). This radio is suitable as a restoration project...it looks like it was sitting in somebody's attic for 50 years after 20 years of use). If interested, ask and I'll give more details of what it needs. Last but not least... Hallicrafters Model S-85, 1954 model. 4 bands, AM Broadcast through 34 Mhz, continous. Has BFO, ANL, AVC, RF & AF Gain, standby switch and headphone jack. Radio is in excellent shape, and works very well. It even has the factory alignment seal card intact. All in all, this radio looks and works almost like new. The only snag is there is a chip in one of the tuning bs. If you're interest in any or all of these, post back, and we'll go from there...
