12358e2f2e9a tech Hello Jim - --8<--cut JH> As "Lifetime Shingles" even for new construction back in JH> the late 40's - sort of an octagon exposed pattern to the JH> sheets. I think also used back then and maybe to early 50's JH> as replacement roofing where composition shingles or worse JH> had been. I think I remember some 'shingled' homes, yes. JB>> over here it's legal to retain it in existing construction JB>> but no longer available new. the replacemnrt product is JB>> called fiber cement and has glass fibres (AFAIK) instead JB>> of asbestos. JH> First part - about the same here - - plenty houses that old JH> still have AC siding and AC "lifetime shingle" roofs. Those JH> products are not used now for new construction. There may JH> be replacement products here which use glass fibers, just JH> for repairs of existing applications. I dunno for sure. I'm not very well informed as to building materials or their uses. As a construction laborer I was a human hi-lo moving things from one place to another. It was not required that I know what they were or how they were made. This was all commercial work with somewhat different materials than housing would be. > > , , > o/ Charles_Angelich - DOS Ghost \o , > __o/ > / > www.undercoverdesign.com/dosghost/faf/ < \ __\__ ___ * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ...
