| subject: | Door Games |
Hi, Been running a BBS for a number of years now, and have yet to install any door games. No BBS'es that are local to me run door games either so I cannot call and get a "look see". From comments in the echoes, it seems that LORD, Trade Wars, and BRE are the more popular games, and I would like to try running a few of these, and see what they are like. I ran Maximus 3.01 for a few years on WIN98, and Lora BBS before that, currently I am running MBSE BBS on Linux, and a number of these doors have been made to run with DOSEMU, I spend most of my time in/on Linux these days, tho I still have a WIN98SE box to play with. What is the status of LORD at present, is it still under development, still registerable, and what is the registration cost. I am interested in freeware/cheap games, at this stage, as due to deteriation in my financial situation, I had to give up my Internet connection, and am barely managing to keep my BBS up at present. Tho I expect things should improve a little in three months or so, all things being equal, might even manage to get an internet connection going again. I understand that where I am situated, that to play Inter-BBS games, an internet connection is essential. :-( Am using what time I have available at present, to test the Maximus/Squish port to Linux, which has been coming along nicely of late. What files are needed and where can I get them, to run LORD, will probably resurect my Maximus/Squish setup on WIN98 to first install and test/see how the whole works, before attempting to move the game/s over to DOSEMU on Linux, and MBSE BBS. A explanation of how the whole lot works would also be appreciated.
