Terry spied a message from Jim Lawrence to Terry Jackson
on 12-2496 12:09 about HEARING SHUTTLE-MIR-SOYUZ
Hello Jim
JL> I sure can't tell you if the antenna on your scanner is enough to pull
JL> in Mir comms. I'd try seeing if you can hear the Ham comms from Mir
JL> initially. I think the downlink frequency has been posted in a
JL> previous message. I keep all the non-ham freqs in my scanner and scan
JL> them all the time. That might be your best bet to hear something.
Ok Thanks for the info.
JL> I'm not quite as far north as you. Here, the US-Canadien border runs
 JL> along the 45th parallell, I think. I believe I'm about 44.25N
The 45 parallel is just south of me partly under water and entering US
territory just a little east of here. Look for Cornwall Ontario on a
map.
I'm about 14 city blocks north of the river almost in line with the
international bridge.
 JL> Good luck with it!
Thanks a lot. Have a good one. Take care.
I may lose my access here soon so if neccessary I can be reached by netmail

        Happy scanning...
