I saw Rich's reply about putting strings (wire) around the screw--kind of 
like the old wooden matchstick thing with house-type wood jobs.
  I was thinking along the lines of a Loctite product like that orange 
Torque Seal stuff we use on some car fasteners; but the luthery-savvy 
folks here might nix that due to effects on the wood or finish.  Dunno.
