Most jobs in America's economy _hardly_ demand any math skills beyond a
_firm_ grasp of 7th-8th grade prealgebra.
Look at lawyers, accountants, bank tellers, loan officers, secretaries,
salespeople, etc. before getting smart about North Carolina textile mills.
(It's amazing how little math beyond the 7th-8th grade level I've used since
getting a B.A. in it, and I work in a law office instead of a mill.)
CB> Most kids can do _FAR_ better in math than they do. It isn't their

Turn off the Marxist rhetoric.
Maybe the kid's own apathy has a lot more to do with why he doesn't learn
math than capitalist subjugation. I've seen plenty of kids from country-club
homes that did abysmally in math and math-related subjects for that reason.
