| subject: | Win98 Virus Scanners and DOS |
Do the Windows versions of popular virus scanners, such as Network Associates/ Mcafee, still scan for the old DOS viruses?? I know Mcafee's product used to be a DOS product. Guess I am wondering if they removed all the DOS virus code when they ported to Windows 9x. Seeing as how it runs on top of DOS, technically, I would imagine they are still there, but didn't want to assume it. I was going to let it scan a DOS machine over a network, with the HD set as a network drive. However, if it won't detect DOS viruses, there is no point. ;) Thanks!
