Seems like I recall one of the Brahmin names for Krishna that 
translates as 'creator and destroyer of worlds'.  Inasmuch as the 
third cent BCE writers did not know of anything beyond the earth, 
I would translate it as creator and destroyer of 'universes'.

That has had me wondering what magic could do to reality, how 
malleable it is to the hammering of a strong mind. And, if that 
be so, what shape would it become?  With such power, the usual 
trappings and symbols of power would seem rather childlike.
