RJT> And probably doesn't use _their_ gui installer... :-) You're catching on, people are writing their own installation routines. I looked at the one for the slimmed down Slackware 8.1 and see no reason why I can't edit it too install more than just the limited /Slakware/A series packages it installs. AAMOF the author tells you you can install the entire /A series and it's obvious why as he used wildcards in the routine. WC> Well you appear to be a bit ahead of both Charles and I RJT> No I'm not. I've really only just started mere weeks ago. The instructors at school were either fleeting like the guy Ron who really knew his stuff and owned his own company but finding he had no time left after two weeks or incompetent like George who was an investment broker and was learning a chapter ahead of us. "Abilities" just happened to be dropping it's commitment to real programming in favor of Windows GUI when I was starting the program. WC> unless Charles is being modest but it's a thought. WC> Next time I fire up LINKS I'll send it along. I think we should follow Charles' lead and use the list server he recommended. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: FidoTel & QWK on the Web! www.fidotel.com (1:275/311) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 275/311 10/345 379/1 633/267 |
