Nope. He had a nuke program. Israel has a nuke program (& is a threat
to it's neighbors), South Africa had a nuke program (& was a threat to
it's neighbors), North Korea has a nuke program (& is a threat to it's
neighbors), Pakistan & India have nuke programs & are a threat to
each other (& thus to others), the PRC has a nuke program (& is a
threat to it's neighbors). The Georgians & others would say the same of
Russia.

The question is are they a threat to the UK?

Do you doubt that Stalin had a nuke program? Did we invade the Soviet
Union? Do you doubt that Mao had a nuke program? Did we invade the PRC?

Reality is though that w/o an attack on Kuwait he'd have both nukes &
missiles & there's be no invasion. Conspiracy theory is that the US
knew where his nuke program was & gave him the green light to invade
Kuwait as a trap so they could get rid of his nuke program.

The current invasion is predicated upon no Soviet Union & the Russians
not being on a nuclear tripwire wrt the US anymore (though they may revise
that in the future). If as the carriers neared the gulf they'd been tailed
by russian ssn's with no guarantees given to the Americans as to wether
they'd be used to sink the carrier then.....

This invasion happened because it was "doable" & that seems a
reason to do it. I would like to get rid of Saddam & do support doing
it by force but that's coz he's a nasty bastard we can get rid of coz he's
got no friends. All this "could give nasty stuff to Al
Qaeda"......"threat to some undefined country aka
"international order"" etc.etc. is just bollox & Blair
& Bush should stop feeding people cr*p like that. We could have
contained him just like the SU was contained. Hell if NATO/the USA could
contain the SU then containing Iraq should be a piece of p*ss.

He's a guy who's a nasty bast*rd the world would be better off without
(along with his whole fascist bast*rd psycho mates) & we can do it
& the locals will actually thank us if we really are liberating them.
