In a message to Paul about "com.sys deinstalling its", Paul said:

AM> DEVICE=C:\OS2\COM.SYS (2,02f8,4,I)
AM> ^ ^
AM> (The important thing here being the 0 in front of the address, and the
AM> fourth I parameter.)

PE> Ok, I've made the change, and tested it out to make sure I
PE> can still log on, so we'll see how it goes. Thanks + bye.

I also read the other day that you can't turn LAZY WRITES off inside
config.sys, due to a bug. Your suspicions were correct. You can turn
them off by using the cache.exe program and running it in a cmd file and
put it in your startup folder. More detail if you want...

'tnt, Anthony.
