That six year old boy left Cuba with his mother, who died en route. 
And the boy's father was quite happy Elian was here - with relatives -
until Castro decided he wanted the boy back.  IMO the only reason Castro
did that was because the Cuban refugees in the Miami area were making such
a big deal about the boy's survival, and it was getting a lot of press -
most of it unfavorable to Cuba.
