I've found that two writers in a system seem to conflict with each
other. I don't have any SCSI on my system, but how about if you just
remove the SCSI CDRW? If that stops the crash, try a switch in the DANI
driver, such as BASEDEV=DANIATAP.FLT /A:0 /SCSI which says to treat the
first (master) drive on the first IDE channel as SCSI. Here is what I
have in my config.sys to make my ATAPI DVDRW/CDRW work:

The reason I have lockcdr remmed is the dani drivers work the writers
better without it, and lockcdr seems to always set the drive as WORM. I
leave it there because when I install a different writer, I boot with
lockcdr, start the RSJ writer control and display the lockcdr message.
I then copy and paste it into cddrv.inf for the new definition, then
reboot with lockcdr remmed again. Virtually every time the definition
as is is good and the writer works correctly. Here's a three working
definitions I have that aren't in the RSJ distro in case anyone runs
across these drives.
