I have an external SupraFax 288, running the -25 rom.  I have a friend with a 
Practical Peripherals 28.8 VFC modem, and his modem does not like to talk 
with mine.  Since running the -25, we are finally able to get the mdoems to 
handshake, but file transfer speeds are pithetic.  We get a 24000 connect, 
but there are so many transfer errors that we only get an efficiency of about 
25%!  Is there anything we can do, besides buying him a real modem?
