Depends upon the year, the mix of resolutions and the mood of the
convention. In 1991, for instance, I'd say there was a pretty
rip-roaring debate on my "blind in the military, even, where
feasible, in combat" resolution. It brought out the conscientious
objectors, the pacifists, those who thought the blind could not do
the job and the patriots including one Vietnam veteran who became
blind during his tour, tried to re-up for another Vietnam tour and
wasn't allowed to. That ended in a rollcall vote!
Also, in Anaheim, you will remember the UBC resolution. I'd say
that got a debate. And I've seen some state conventions where
resolutions were hotly debated also.
