BM>SA>FF> I would like to talk about any & all of the Disney Movies. My
BM>SA>FF> favourite movie is "The Goofy Movie".
BM>SA> I taped it recently on The Disney Channel a few weeks ago. It was
BM>SA> very good. I'm pleased that Goofy's role in the pix was reasonable
BM>SA> than just his being only stupid and clumsy.
BM>I quite agree. TGM is clearly the Goof's first chance to show off his
BM>acting ability, and he made good use of it. One generally doesn't expect
BM>releases from the TV Animation division to be of much artistic worth,
BM>but I think this film ranks above some of the lesser releases from the
BM>Feature Animation division. ("Robin Hood", to cite just one pathetic
BM>entry.)
ROBIN HOOD is my least favorite as well but I don't know why.
Maybe it has a lot to do with the fact that the company was still
reeling from Walt's death and they didn't know how to fend for
themselves without a leader to advise them.
BM>Goofy has done yoeman work over the year in shorts. Always before
BM>he has played either the victim of the script's foolishness or as second
BM>fiddle to Mickey. I'm glad he finally got his chance in the spotlight.
Me too.
BM>Question: What Disney character would _you_ like to see get their own
BM>chance at a starring role in a feature-length film? What would the story
BM>be about?
Mickey and Minnie. The story could be based on his adventures with
The Phantom Blot from the comic books.
