subject: RXASYNC - Serial I/O for

On the 01-07-95, Gary Chambers did converse with Jerry Mcbride:

[deletia]
GC>Jerry, I too have had difficulty with RXAsync. I can't even
GC> make it through
GC> the demo script without it crashing. Having never gotten
GC>past that, I've banished it back to it's compressed state
GC>deep in the recesses of my file areas. I'd like to do some
GC>[hopefully] quick and dirty on-line doors work with it;
GC>nothing fancy, just a little trig for some navigation
GC>calculations.

If it didn't work for you then why haven't YOU sent me a message?

Did you even bother to edit the script and make sure the
correct port for your system was being opened?

Tell me what's wrong, what its doing and give me the output
generated by the test script using the following:

RXASYNC 2>&1 >ToTimmsy.txt

I also need to know what UART you are accessing, com port, and
which com drivers, SIO/COM.sys and versions. Problems you
have experienced may/may not be due to RxAsync. Without
telling me how am I supposed to know? eh!

Frankly, if you haven't even tried to contact me then you
have no right to slag off RxAsync. Lots of other people are
using RxAsync very succesfully including a guy in Holland
driving the performance monitor on his sailing boat.

Cheers, Ian Timms. [Team OS/2]
