Hello Paul!

AW>> Prude is the wrong word. Narcissistic is more apt. But there's nothing

AW>> wrong with Bob's attitude anyway - everyone thinks they're the most

AW>> important person in the world and the centre of the universe. Paranoia

PE> Some of us realise that we are not so important that having names on

PE> mailing lists is a threat to national security.

Some people reject the waste of resources used to send advertising junk

which they have no intention of using to aid their purchasing

decisions. Nobody suggested any threats to national security.

Personally the less junk mail I receive the better. It accumulates when

I'm away, and says "ROB ME, I'M ON HOLS!" in big flashing letters. And

often the junk mail fits into my mailbox, and the important stuff sits

outside facing the elements which often means a thorough drenching.

AW>> may come into it as well. The welder that just repaired my bike is

AW>> convinced that mailing lists, computers, Paul Keating, the ALP, the

AW>> republican push, and a whole lot of other stuff is a conspiracy to

AW>> convert to a cashless Fabian society. Fortunately he's an artist with

 AW>> the welding rod though.

PE> I don't know what "Fabian" is, but if he hates Paul
Keating and the ALP,

PE> he can't be all bad.

ROFL!

The fabian society is an organisation committed to evolutionary

socialism. They helped create the British Labour party.

PE>>> A communist for thinking that making

PE>>> Australia Post employees have to do more work to deliver your

PE>>> letter is acceptable, thus undermining the efficiency of a

 PE>>> capitalist country. BFN.

AW>> Australia Post is a sheltered workshop, and it should be made as

AW>> difficult as possible for them.

PE> It should be made difficult for them if there was an alternative. BTW, a

PE> lot of Australia Post's work is contracted out. The fact remains, any

PE> inefficiency you add to them means that you and I have to pay for. BFN.

True, but I still want to make it difficult for the buggers. And I'm

still not sure that AP's profits for the year are related to stamp

costs. Record profits most years, but the cost of sending a letter

still rises inexorably.

Regards, Alan
