A new drive would cost me $10-12 US here, from a reasonable supplier (lots
more from some places).

I don't think I would pay more than $6 for a glass of grappa  (and yes,
there is a local winery here in the Finger Lakes that makes a very nice
grappa - $22 for a 375ml bottle).
