BR> I'm just not a fan of processors. I've tried every major brand and they
BR> all sound about the same. They have a few cool sounding effects that
re
BR> neat to play with but are not useable in a real world situation. The
BR> rest of the "useable" effects all sound *canned*. If you can live with
BR> them, more power to you, but I don't like them.
Neither was I until I found the DOD FX7. Seriously, I think that all
it is is a bunch of really good stomp boxes wired together in a compact box.
The whole unit is very transparent when in bypass mode and the effects are
very lush and dynamic. With certain settings, the distortions are very touch
sensitive, and the choruses (chorii? :>) are very lush. The only effect I
have any complaint about is the wah... It's a bit unresponsive, but I can
always get a Morley.
To tell you the truth, this thing even made my tranny Fender Deluxe
112+ sound good! I put it in front of my Dual Showman and I can get anything
from the sweetested clean chorus sounds to the deadliest shred distortions
and everything in between with it.
Seriously, go try one out. They're discontinued, but you should find
them used. Don't fall into the replacement for it, the TEC8. It's distortions
suck. I'm not sure about the TEC8G (they replaced the distortions), though.
It might sound nice.
