| subject: | CD/RW Bargain |
Hello, ALL. Several folks here have mentioned wanting to buy a CD/RW drive. Here, FWIW, is info on a "bargain" which I ended up getting today at the local OfficeMax store. In today's newspaper, OfficeMax flier has IOMagic brand CD/RW drive for $40 minus $20 MIR. I went to local OfficeMax this afternoon - - they were out of the IOMagic brand on the shelves. I went and asked about it at the customer service desk, and they sold me a "substitute" - 48x12x48 CDRW drive by "Pacific Digital" - (another one of those private label brands?) for $19.99 straight up, with no rebate submittal involved. I liked not having to mess with mail-in rebate form! Box has a sticker claiming PCWorld listed it as one of their "Best Buy" items. Good luck.- - - JimH. ...
