I do know the situation is quite different in the Philippines. But here, 
in our spoiled Western World, it isn't even worth the while to clean a 
floppe drive.

Just purchase yourself a brand new drive for a fistfull of euro (cents), 
install and see how it turns out. If not succesfull it might be the mobo 
or the cable or guess what, but in any event you'll still have a spare 
brand new floppy drive to rely on.
