oof!
So mine isn't the only cat who's done that! Only my cat went your
cat one better - he ate part of a wedding cake.... My mother was baking a
wedding cake for a family friend, and it was big. She'd partly assembled it,
and had left it on the dining room table to "set". The ceramic decoration
was already on top of the cake, and that night at dinner we heard it hit the
table with a >thump<. Since it was heavy and not well-balanced, we didn't
think much of it.
We should have. The cat, Max, had chewed a piece out of the bottom layer of
the cake. He then proceeded to walk UP the cake, leaving paw-prints in the
icing, and bumped the cake topper off so that he could be King of the
ll.
He escaped with his life, but only because he left the scene of the crime
before my mother saw the damage. She didn't tell the bride until about 5
years after it happened....
