MH> The error that I'm having is something along the lines of "socket has MH> already been assigned as address" when I try to bind the socket. I MH> can't help but wonder if OS/2 warp supports socket MH> servers ( daemons ). Hmm.. I haven't seen this problem, except when I try something stupid like try to run a daemon when one's already running. That, or if a daemon dies for whatever reason, the socket libraries sometimes think the socket is still claimed, but trying again after some time (I'm not sure exactly how long the timeout is) seems to do the trick. The behaviour is no different from what I've seen under various Unix variants. Anyway, Warp's IAK does support socket servers - I've got a finger daemon working here. I've been trying my hand at a telnet daemon, but I've run up against a wall: I have seperate threads for the data going each way, and I can't seem to figure out how to unblock a thread that's blocked on a recv() call. ioctl(ns, FIONBIO...) doesn't do it, and I can't figure out what else to try. --- Maximus/2 2.01* Origin: Sol 3 * Toronto * V.32 * (905)858-8488 (1:259/414) SEEN-BY: 12/2442 620/243 624/50 632/348 640/820 690/660 711/409 410 413 430 SEEN-BY: 711/807 808 809 934 942 949 712/353 515 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 259/414 400 99 250/99 3615/50 229/2 12/2442 711/409 808 809 934 |
